Jersey Tai Chi Foundation - Classes
At the Jersey Tai Chi Foundation, we offer a comprehensive range of classes tailored to suit practitioners of all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced students seeking to delve deeper into the martial aspects of Tai Chi.
Class Structure
Our classes are meticulously structured to accommodate the diverse skill levels of our students. Led primarily by Raymond Reid, our Principal Instructor, all classes are overseen by experienced instructors proficient in teaching at all levels within the JTCF curriculum. Additionally, instructors are occasionally supported by advanced students, providing them with opportunities to enhance their teaching and communication skills. Our curriculum is designed to foster growth and development at every stage of the journey.
The Tai Chi form is divided into three sections, each with three levels, for a total of nine levels. Students must advance through the three levels of each section before progressing to the next section within the form:
- Beginner: Section 1 (3 Levels)
- Intermediate: Section 2 (3 Levels)
- Advanced: Section 3 (3 Levels)
Beyond mastering the form, our classes encompass a variety of practices and drills aimed at enhancing our students' structure (posture), balance, focus, breathing, relaxation, flexibility, and other attributes. These exercises are tailored to each student's skill level and, as well as partner work, may involve the use of practice aids such as the ball and staff.
